Farmingdale Bicycle Path
5 - 20 miles
  One
of Long Island's most popular trails is the 8 mile Bethpage Bikeway.
This paved, mostly flat bikeway takes you through Bethpage State Park,
then down through the Massapequa Preserve. The Preserve is 423 acres of
woodlands, ponds, lakes, freshwater wet-lands, and is home to hundreds
of species of plants and animals. While riding in the preserve you will
follow a meandering stream as it connects to 5 lakes along the way.
Close to the Southern end of the path is Brady Park; the park has
restrooms Picnic tables, playground and is a great place for a picnic
alongside the trout stocked Massapequa Reservoir. If you decide to go
all the way to the end of the path (one more mile, Merrick Road), it is
only a 1/4 mile west to All
American Hamburger. A Great place to stop for Burgers & Fries.
 The
paths northern terminus is the picnic area of Bethpage State Park.
Restrooms (in-season), BBQ’s, playground, basket ball and other game
courts. This section of the path has more hills then the southern
section. Both are Fun Family rides, and are good for all abilities.

from the shop. Total mileage from the shop to Brady Park & back is
14 miles. Total mileage to Bethpage Park and back is 5 miles. (Self

Journey to Jones Beach
30 miles
What better way to get to the beach
then bike there? After riding the Farmingdale Bikeway to the southern
terminus, it is just a short residential street ride to the Jones Beach
bike path. This 4.5 mile path will take you right to parking field 10.
Here you can lock up the bike and spend the day, or grab a bite to eat
at the food stand. During the off season you can ride to
the boardwalk
and continue you ride for a few more miles. Mostly flat, fully paved, some minor road traffic.

Trail Riding
 We don’t have any mountains, but Boy
do we have some great Trail Riding. Whether it’s a leisurely ride
on one of the many fire roads, or taking a crack at the twisting miles
of single track, its only a quick jump to the trails. There are miles of
unmarked trails in Bethpage State Park, or continue North on the
Greenbelt to Stillwell Woods. In Stillwell there is the 2 mile Beginner
trail & the
6+ mile Black Diamond loop. Maybe the best in Nassau
County. Trails start 1 mile from shop. Trails
